    Seizure Background
Severe subdural hematoma at 10 yrs. old. Petit mals until 17, when grand mals began. Dilantin (horribly) for 18 yrs. Off at age 36, after 4th miscarriage. No problems for 9 yrs. Only awake grand mal, at age 45. Several more "sleepers" I awoke to hear about before noticing my further knashed tongue later, since; and about second one, I bruised my husband, and sought medical attention again. (..and unable to obtain insurance since age 36.) On Gabapentin since, and two seizures since Rx said. Family doctor referred me to neurologist, who started me on Lamictal. After working up to 250mg daily, (100mg in AM, and 150mg PM) on Lamictal, I have had only a couple petit mals since, and feel much better. I have been Dx'd as suffering from SADD in the past, and I can't necessarily disagree, but this season, symptoms have been shorter in duration. Vitamin D, calcium, and .025 -.05mgs of melatonin (appr. 3-4 times wkly.) may also help, immensely. Grrrrr, the abuses I suffered since the accident that caused initial injury as a child, and the effects of the murders that took place that I have had to pretend that I didn't witness, has not helped matters any over the years, too, I am sure.
