    Seizure Background
For 30 years or so I have had depression, petit mal seizures and auras about every month and have recently discovered that they are due to my diet. I have been a vegan/vegetarian throughout this time eating lots of soy, wheat etc. I am 48 and have had very bad headaches, depression and blurred vision in the last year which I blamed on my age and peri menopause. Since cutting out wheat, soy, oats and MSG I have been much better, though have not totally got rid of the headaches. I only discovered the glutamate link after feeling pretty good on the Atkins diet but each time I had some parmesan cheese a few hours later I'd have a seizure. I am struggling with the G.A.R.D diet as I love chinese food and need strong flavours. It's very difficult as a Veggie!
