My condolences on the death of your cousin. My great aunt is a Roman Catholic nun. The rest of the family tends to be protestants. In fact, I was raised a Baptist.

That is the way I believe. And my Mom. I guess its just different if you say it or not. I have a rosary blessed by St. John Paul the 23rd. And some other neat things. My Aunt was a nun. Irish Catholics. McCaffreys. LOL I think it is great what you do because who are we to judge somebodys heart? My cousin died of aids.

LOL...Hi Theresa! Independent Catholicism differs a bit from Roman Catholicism. We do Not believe the pope is the head of the church or infallible. We honor him as first in honor among equals. But he's human just like everybody else. Also, we allow women, married people, and homosexuals to be ordained. We figure it's God that calls people....who are we to stop them? Also, our priests work for a living. So we all have jobs in the community. It makes it so that we can truly be effective ministers. After all, we understand what it's like to work. Other than those 3 major differences, we're catholic. We have the same services and sacraments. Some of us use the Book of Common Prayer for our services, as it's a tad shorter and easier....and others use the Roman Catholic Missal or even Eastern Orthodox or Celtic catholic or Old Catholic orders of service. What can I say....we're an eclectic bunch.
