- I've had epilepsy for 33 years. When I was younger, and not able to work, I was eligible for gov't assistance to pay for my medication after I was too old to be covered under my parents insurance. Now that I've had surgery, and able to drive, work and get my own insurance, I still can't afford to pay for my medication. I've been looking for ways for to make this more affordable. I had contacted the Epilepsy Foundation earlier this year to ask them for assistance, their response was "We don't help anyone with prescription medication costs what so ever."
