- Seizure Background
- I'm now 49 years old - I had febrile seizures as a small child and remember taking liquid Phenobarbital then. I had my tonsils out at 6 - fewer colds and fevers after that and the seizures seemed to disappear too, but reappeared around age 11 or so - I was put on Dilantin and Phenobarbital pills then. I rarely if ever had seizures in my teens and twenties but they started acting up again severely in my mid-thirties. I ended up in status epilepticus, followed by surgery, around age 37 or so, and since that time have had seizures occasionally.
