Ok so this is my first time on here,

I've been epilectic since 13/14 and have lot's of different epilectic attacks, small and big seizure's, sadly when I go to the doctor's they are able to tell me I'm epilectic but the result's they get from the e.e.g's are not big enough to break down, today I rang about six people and had conversation's stating I didn't know where I was I didn't realise this until I checked my previous call's and text's that I sent out, has anyone else had this or is this ot liked to my epilepsy.

I have blackout's quite alot but they norm last second's not 30/45 mins...

Like I said I have lot's of small seizure's Blackout's/twitches/struggle with speach/struggle with eye sight/aura's/copper taste etc, when I have a big seizure the worst quite often happen's broken jaw/fractured skull/ending up under a bus/and drowing and ending in intensive care however can still smile about all that stuff.

But......All this is starting to effect my work Atm and this new one has got to me a little bit more any advice will be greatly appreciated and sorry about rambling lol :)

Hi Aaron, first of all, a big welcome to you! I'm glad you've found CWE.

It sounds like you are having both simple and complex partial seizures. These kinds of seizures don't always show up on EEGs because they originate too deep in the brain. Plenty of people -- including many CWE members -- have been diagnosed with epilepsy even though they don't have positive EEGs.

Are you on medication right now? Since your seizures are uncontrolled, it sounds like the medication dosage needs to be adjusted or a different med needs to be tried. You should definitely be talking to your neurologist about finding a treatment to help.

Best,
Nakamova

Thank you for replying Nakamova,

You are right I have both simple & complex seizure's, I have been to the doctor's but they don't really do anything with out the specialist permission, i'm seeing my specialist in 5 month's time and my Med's haven't long been changed, I am now on eplim 1500mg in the morning slow release and 1000mg in the evening (There isn't a higher dose of this and in all fairness the the complex seizure are not frequant) 50mg of lamitical morning and night.

It's the simple one's that are giving me the most problems ATM as work send me home when I have a simple one, when I say simple they can last quite a while as well, The eyesight and speach I struggle with for longer then the twitches.

.....:)

Welcome!

I do that ALL the time. I have posted on this site and not noticed how messed up my typing is, or what i am even talking about until I check my inbox. (I have gotten into the habit of checkign everytime I log on) I have called people and talked gibberish. I have texted and msn'd gibberish. Left strange voicemails. etc etc. all with no memory.

Thank you for the reply.

Just so I know have you spoke to your specialist about this, does it affect you on a daily basis and if so how does it work with your job (if your able to work that is),

Did you find you rang a particular type of person like for instance I tried to call my fiance and my work can understand my fiance but not sure about the work thing.

regards - Aaron

Hi Aaron, since it sounds like it will be awhile before you can get your medications reviewed, here are some things to consider in the meantime: You could try taking a B12 vitamin (as part of a B Vitamin complex) and/or a fish or flax-oil supplement. This are all available over-the-counter and are good for protecting the brain. Some folks have found that adjusting their nutrition helps -- a gluten-free diet, Modified Atkins diet (MAD), and LGIT diet are three that have helped folks with seizure control.

You might try keeping a seizure diary, if you don't already. Tracking seizures can sometimes help isolate triggers (like flashing lights, or lack of sleep) or patterns (like certain times of day, or certain locations), that you can then avoid. If you do add a supplement, or try a diet like those mentioned above, a seizure diary can help show if things are getting better.
