First, i had seizure due to a head injury, took a lot of pills for a year, no more seizure after that, almost 2 and a half years have passed. My grades have dropped the next exam after i had seizure, as i am from a place where i can't get a job easily without scoring above 90% before graduating, it's a serious issue. At the age of 13-14, my score dropped from 80-90+ to 30-40 now, never been able to take it up. I eventually gave up studying, now i won't study even if i think i should. Only a week ago, i tried to get back in life and started gathering solutions. Only then google lead me here, "maybe the head injury changed the way i study" hit my mind. My mom is mentally depressed atm, as we are currently going through a lot of family problems, if i tell this to her, i am afraid her illness would turn worse, and i told my dad that this might be the problem, he was not ready to believe it, as he thinks i am coming up with excuses for this exam's scores. Help me out a bit please

Nope, i actually skipped a lot of pills two years back, i was supposed to take those for a whole year, i probably took it like for a month, took those pills irregularly, and completely stopped in about 2 months. I know i was very careless those days, i didn't even know what happened to me, i thought it was like a fever or something, a week and it would fly off. Yes, i have met a neurologist and underwent treatment, but haven't made contact with him anymore, and i am not taking meds as well. Yeah, that's why i am here, i am tired of being mocked and curled up in the corner, it's worth a try. I am ready to go all out myself if i have to meet up the neurologist, as i highly doubt my father would allow me to.

Have you/can you speak to your family doctor, maybe they could refer you to neurologist to check/verify if anything occured when you were injured?

I don't think that if any relatives of mine are doctors, but i'll search for one. All i have to do is meet up with a neurologist. right?

Kevin,

It would be great if you could meet with neurologist.

When I say family doctor, I mean the doctor you would go to for anything, so he/she can refer you to a neurologist.

Keep us posted and keep positive....

you should go back to dr,if after this lenghth of time no seziours it maybe time to drop off the pills but only under dr's care,to stop them abruptly is not good..your mum and this may have lots to do with your present situation

Working on getting back to the doc, thanks a lot. And yeah 2 years have passed so, there's a very low chance of me getting seizures again right?

Kevin,

As much as we would like to predict seizure freedom for you, we cannot and we would be wrong to do that.

Please do see the specialist, let them determine by way of tests, neurologist can ask for EEG to verify if there is seizure activity or if was a one off (which I will pray it was for u)

But know we will be here for you, anytime u need to vent, share, have question feel free to fire away...

Keep us posted....

I called the doctor and asked if it was a one off seizure, unfortunately, he said i have a 90% chance of having another shot of seizure soon, my mood was off the whole day >.< He asked me to meet him soon so that he can find out whats the reason for the low marks, i hope i find an answer. Thanks a lot
