Hello all,

Sorry for the long absence. Things were going well with my daughter. At exactly six months, to the minute, seizure free, she had a seizure. It was an absence seizure. She was dealing with her vertical diplopia, but now her vision has deteriorated. She sees shapes, but no color or detail. I'm thinking brain tumor and I am petrified. Does anyone have a similar experience or knowledge of one?

Again apologies for the absence. I am sorry.

Tom

Tom... I think I would definitely call her neurologist tomorrow and possibly her eye doctor too. I can definitely see why you are petrified, but knowing is the first step of helping.
Question...Did her vision deteriorate immediately after her seizure? If so, you may want to call the doctor on-call. So sorry your daughter is having a problem. Please keep us posted.

Mary K,

Thanks. We are seeing the E Nuero tomorrow. She came out of the seizure and couldn't see. 48 hour VEEG and nothing. Ophthalmologist said all is fine. Need to try to see Neuro-opthalmoligist. Hope he is available.

I hope you are able to get in to see the eurologist-opthalmoligist. I know how hard it can be waiting. Keep us posted and best of luck.

Thanks. She's 16, extremely active and wants to enter college early. She actually got the letter for the application interview on Friday.

please God they will have answers for whats happening to your daughter.

no rush at such a young age for college I would hope...1st things 1st and health is #1....though I know telling a 16year old that is not as easy as it sounds....
