My daughter took a nap yesterday and when she woke up had a jerk. Just one small jerk - but a myoclonic jerk anyway you look at it! Shortly afterwards, she got a terrible headache. Not a migraine but a bad, bad headache that lasted for a few hours. Could this headache be related to the myoclonus she had?? I am wondering is myoclonics in isolation can produce headaches as an after effect??? TIA!

My myoclonics tend to only cause headaches if I actually hit myself in the head or bang my head.

Others may have different experiences though.

Q

The myoclonic jerk and the headaches could both co-occurring -- both symptoms of the same seizure activity. Or they could both be symptoms of the same underlying stressor (like dehydration or poor sleep or light sensitivity).
