Hi I am new to all of this I just need to talk to someone who has been through this already. We are on our 4th med and still no luck stopping the seizures. thanks brandi:e:

Hi Brandi - Welcome to CWE
My daughter is 16. We tried 4 meds too, and the seizures were worse on some occasions.
I have read that if you are controlled at the second trial, that each successive med the % chance that they will control the seizures goes down quite a bit.

Not to say there isn't a wonder drug out there for your daughter. How frustrating. Here her personality is just beginning to truly emerge and she has this set back.

Are you happy with your medical team?

Hi Brandi, welcome to the forum. :hello:

Options are a bit more limited with a two year old. Some of the more effective non-drug alternatives (EEG neurofeedback, neurobehavioral therapy, diet) may not be feasible. Still, you are welcome to check out the chart in my signature and investigate the possibilities.

Many epilepsy patients run through a long list of AEDs before finding one that offers some acceptable balance of seizure control and tolerable side effects.
