I read a few stories today on the web that say that a volcano in Alaska, about a 100 miles SW of Anchorage is imminent.

Mt. Redoubt

My best friend lives in Anchorage and I'm so worried.

:(

I had friends who were in Military not too far from there,
but I am not sure if they are there anymore - thanks
for the post ---> surely will I keep an eye on that!

If you hear anymore - KEEP US POSTED!

I was in Alaska in 2006 a couple of months after Mount Augustine erupted, it covered Homer and Seward in ash, I have just had a quick look to see where Redoubt is in comparison and it is just slightly closer to Anchorage.

I am sure your friends will evacuate if it becomes necessary. At the moment Redoubt is on a code orange and 'watch status' not 'warning', so at this point it is not definite that it will erupt, it is just showing heightened activity. So I think it is just a matter of watching the news/net.
