A new cause of seizures

A jolt from a stun gun can cause a seizure if the gun is aimed at the head, warns a new report in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.

The case report describes an incident in which an unnamed Ontario police officer was chasing a suspected robber. The officer's partner fired his Taser and accidentally hit the officer.

The VNS can increase seizures in some people too. It shouldn't be surprising that an electrical charge might trigger a seizure. :twocents:

I don't think it's surprising but I'm thrilled that it was acknowledged in a medical associations journal.

surprise me in the least either, but geez louise..........and Eric's right. It IS a great thing that it is being acknowledged in the medical journals. So many things that cause ep are not....
