Has anyone ever been refused treatment because of their epilepsy? I can understand a dentists point of view if someone were to have a tonic clonic whilst he had 4 fingers in your mouth.....ouch.Once i was refused,he rekoned i was acting weird so probaly thought i was going to go into one.Fair play he just rescheduled the appointment for me.

Well, once when i was having treatment i started shivering uncontrollably (i think it was a shock reaction to the 4 or 5 injections in my mouth) and because my teeth were clamping together they had to abandon it for a while until the shivering had subsided.

Worst thing was, by the time it had stopped i needed another two jabs in the gob o_O

My dentist (the hygienist actually) just asks if my seizures are controlled, and then goes to work. I've never had dental surgery though, where you're put under. Don't know if that might make a difference.

I had to do a lot of explaining. I'm not sure if they were nervous or just curious though. And of course its military and they aren't the smartest ducks on the pond...

I had dental surgery, but they did it under local anaesthetic. That's the day i had the problem on. Wish they had put me to sleep for it.

My neurosurgeon got a dentist, a specialist at Hopkins, to make the plate for my missing skull. From that day on, he became my regular dentist until the day he died. He was a gruff man on the outside, but when he was pouring the clay to make the mold for my head, his hands were shaking & his voice quivered a little. He knew I was taking Dilantin, so he knew what to watch for. Now that he's gone, I need to find another dentist - and I'll have to explain what happened all over again! Ugh!

My daughter has never been denied dental work. I told the dentist I was worried, and he asked me why? He said it was not a problem.

She also just had her wisdom teeth taken out. Was put under and came through it with out any issues.

It all depends on the approach you take and finding people that are supportive.

Oh no,it was just the once,he hadnt mentioned it before or since he aint a bad bloke, the dentist before that.who retired was great, you could take in cds and put em on while he worked. He had a nice big high fi in his surgery.

Ive never had any problems with my dentist or getting any dental work done. I had all my wisdom teeth out a few years ago. Never had any problems with dental issues.
