Let us share thoughts, knowledge and links about Oxygen Therapy. Let us hear personal stories from people who have undergone it.

Can Oxygen Therapy help in curing brain related issues? Can Oxygen therapy help in creating new neurons and pathways? Can Oxygen therapy reduce inflammation of brain tissues?

Can it reduce seizures? Can it increase seizure threshold? Can it cure our kids of autism and epilepsy?

I think anything can help that yields conducive results...with that being said...let us all take a few moments to slowly breathe in (and maybe go to a nice place).........and out :) (repeating as many times as necessary for therapeutic treatment)

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) - Links for published medical papers

(1) Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has been shown to be neuroprotective in multiple brain disorders. It might ameliorate mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress of brain tissue and improving brain "functions", such as cerebral metabolism and blood flow.

I wonder how my handwriting would look before and after a really, really good laugh! Ohh, Mr E, that combination of green eye and whisker with message got the oxygen moving in me this morning. Many thanks!

I knew it had been discussed many times before here on CWE, so thanks Bernard!

I don't have any proof, but I think a lot of my mental health problems have a lot to do with lack of oxygen and blood flow to my brain. I used to take Piracetam which increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain and I noticed I was able to think and speak so much more clearly and my memory improved. Piracetam works in different ways though, so I can't be certain that an increase in oxygen and blood flow was what helped or if it was something else.

Oxygen therapy seems interesting. I'd like to try it, but unfortunately I don't think a doctor would prescribe me oxygen unless I have a problem with my lungs.

nicchi, I don't think you need a prescription. There are oxygen tanks advertised sometimes in the Hammacher and Schlemmer on-line catalogue for at-home oxygen therapy. If you look around on-line you might find other places. I think maybe people who drink a lot buy them to help get over hang-overs!
