On vacation I had two long seizures. Came home and had seizure activity for eleven hours. Next day I took my Lamictal and still had a seizure. We called my neurologist and he said to get me to the emergency room.
By the time I got there, I could not move at all. I was totally paralyzed. The only thing I could move was my eyes. I couldn't even move my mouth.
They gave me three doses of valium which did help.
The doctor increased my Klonopin, kept me on the Lamictal and added time released Depakote.
They are scheduling me to go to Dartmouth Epilepsy Center. There I will stay for 3 to 5 days. they will take me off all anti seizure meds and be hooked up to wires. they want to find out what is going on. My neurologist admitted he doesn't know what is wrong with me. I am glad I will go through this test at the epilepsy center. I want some answers.

So sorry that seizures intruded on your vacation Sylvia. Seizures of that length are very scary, so I'm glad you will be going to see the specialists at Dartmouth. I hope the in-patient EEG there won't be too intense, and will produce results that will help the neuros come up with a more successful treatment plan.

How are you feeling now?

I am tired today but no seizures. I think it's a combination of the increase in Klonopin and what I went through yesterday.
Thanks for being here.
