"Epilepsy and Me"

Hi All I hope you are well, and not all purple and green and bruised down your left arm like me, it's ok, and only hurts to touch, but I had an Atonic in the supermarket last week, they were very helpful, and looked after me, mind you, I've had about five seizures in there, and now I have the Blepharospasm, I walk into things ha ha!! They probably follow me round the store on the CCTV.
To anyone that can get Channel BBC3 at 9pm tonight (Mon 10th) there is a documentary on called "Epilepsy and Me" I had to post it on here as you never hear the word epilepsy mentioned, let alone a programme about it! It's about four young people living with epilepsy, and should be good.
It'll be available on the BBC I.Player too, I never know whether this is available on the internet or not, so I just thought I'd let you all know. I hope all is well for all you CWE folks.

Love & Best Wishes Elaine xx

Well at least it only hurts to touch. The store might assign a person to escort you through the store.
Hopefully BBC puts this online as well. On the other side we only have BBC America which is normally dedicated to hit series and sci-fi.

What happens when people can't see your disability? It's hidden and can strike at any time, without warning - when you're walking down the street, in a classroom, at a party or on a date.

Epilepsy & Me is a film about people who have extreme epilepsy, where seizures can be a daily occurrence and they have to be watched 24 hours a day. It follows four people at a crucial point in their lives when their futures are being decided.

It's rare that 21-year-old Jack gets through a day without having a convulsive seizure. He needs constant supervision, but is determined to take his new girlfriend Olivia out on a date - made even more complicated when he has to bring his support worker along.

Amy is leaving her residential college and needs to find somewhere to live, but where will be safe, happy and allow her more independence?

Olivia is 21 and hasn't had a seizure for four years. She wants to prove to others that she's ready to learn to drive - something most people around her believe isn't possible.

And 14-year-old Thomas has recently developed epilepsy because of a newly discovered brain tumour. What will happen if he has major surgery?

How can you grow up and lead an independent life when you can never be left alone?
Says here the programme will be available shortly after broadcast: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02w1yft

My seizures have been so bad at times that I wore I helmet, and I refused to sit at home and wait for my next seizures. I had a RTL and it didn't work and I've taken so many meds it's not funny. So I'm now taking 2MG Fycompa and I have only had 1 seizure with it and that was october 18th.I still I still won't give up on getting control though.

Bummer they don't have that documentary on Amazon. What's up with that? Only one documentary about epilepsy.
