These migraine are rare before my seizure. They have just really started happening and it has happened about 3 times to me.I can get a migraine and 5 minutes earlier and I will have a seizure but not always.

It's usually the opposite for me, seizure and then a migraine. Either way it seems like the two are linked in some way neurologically.

Same here. Seizure first, then migraine. But, I don't always get the migraine.

Migraines

In many instances, migraines happen after a seizure because of all of the bad connections that have taken place in a person's brain during a seizure. The bad connections are what is causing the pain.
A person who has migraines may feel worn down in a way that is similar to the way a person feels after an epileptic seizure, just not as much.
Migraines are similar to seizures in some ways. Bad connections between parts of the brain occur during both, just more severely during a seizure.:ponder:

Same. Sorry honey. The last post seizure migraine I had was horrific. I hope you feel better soon

Just nothing you can do but sleep it off and hope people leave you alone..I think if ww3 broke out nothing I could do and I tried over the years

There is a good article from the Epilepsy Foundation about how migraine's and epilepsy are linked.

Since I am a new member the forum won't let me post the link. However, if you google search "seizure, migraine, epilepsy foundation" the article should pop right up.

Best of luck!
Josh

I started out having migraine headaches when I was a kid and then the epilepsy started. Years later I found that cold water therapy helped get rid of the migraines just put a cold washcloth on your face and the back of your neck and this in turn calms the neurons down, it has worked great for me. I wish all of you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Josh, put the link up with spaces in between. Myself or one of the other mods will fix it for you :)

I think thats the article mentioned earlier, it's very wordy, but basically says there is a link between migraines and epilepsy.
I haven't had a seizure in just over 12 months, but if I'm late to take my medication or accidently skip a dose I get a migraine rather than an actual seizure. I think something has suddenly changed for me, as I use to just have a seizure if I missed a dose. I always had a migraine after a partial seizure too. They are definitely linked, judging by the article, there hasn't been a huge amount of research into it.

Yep can see migraine on scan.afraid cold cloth make no difference as crunchy found out.Cfthat gone on to find out I got glaucoma which also gives head aches so keep eye on that...I take cloberzam and pray for sleep again It timing thing but try those cheap one penny sweets and tonic water again timing thing.my e similar to yours the aura and head ache worse thing. You could try the British migraine society it marginally better than American no harm trying....You also could have wear and tear on neck get xrayed oh yes got had that to.neck collar may help head aches just like migraine.
Migraine must be one worse things for man If had it everyday I be fully disabled.to extent psychology may play small part bc I worry going to have one

I had gone to a headache specialist recommended to me my my neuro for the horrible migraines that I get after seizures. I'd tried all sorts of different meds that she'd given me, even a shot that was suppose react fast, but unfortunately none worked.

However I've never found any type of pain med that has worked for any type of pain I've ever had on any part of my body, even Vicodin when I was having severe back pain. I don't know if it the meds I'm on have something to do with that or if it's just me.

I take strong pain killers for other things they do noting for migraine I have wondered if they make it worse I have been told paracetamol can cause headaches if take them before 6 hours.unfortuneatly sleep only thing that helps but I can wake up in night migraine woken me up.
They say migraine causes no long term problems but head aches like that you have to wonder

I wonder if the docs ever tried giving you an injection of magnesium sulfate.

The study at the link below suggests that it's "an efficient, safe, and well-tolerated drug in the treatment of migraine attacks. "

I'm not sure if I've tried that, don't know if that's what the shot was that the headache dr gave me.

I'll talk to my neuro about it. I like to ask him about things before I take them. I started taking B6 on my own to help with my kepprage and it caused me to have seizures. So I've started to ask him about anything that I take.

It's seemed kind of strange to me that the two always seem to go hand in hand. I've had mini migraines for years prior to my first seizure. I'd get the blotchies, nausea, really tired, and a minor headache, but NEVER the full blown, grabbing your head, and crying type of thing. Then about 8 months ago I got my first one. I don't remember whether it was before or after because I had a few issues then (mini's, a grand, and two migraines) plus my crap memory. But I find it very interesting that these two things always hang out together. Makes you wonder what's going on up there doesn't it??? :/

I usually get a bad headache over one eye and several seizures would follow over the course of three days. Since I had to change doctors, he gave me Lorazepam and I use it when I a headache like that. Since 6/26/17, I've had 4 seizures total instead of 9+ each month.
