    Seizure Background
I am a 60 year old female that was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2006. At the time I was 53 years old and had started menopause, was under a lot of stress at work, and was expecting a grandchild. My 1st grandchild from another son, had died when he was 10 days old of congenital heart failure. I was very concerned for the welfare of this baby. My husband, who witnessed all my episodes said that I would get up during the night, go to the kitchen and start making him food. Then I would go take a bath. I would smack my lips and have a confused look. Later, I would recall these things but I thought that I had dreamt them. My neurologist put me on 2000 mg. of Keppra in 2006. In 2008 my husband of 38 years passed away. Needless to say, I had several seizures right after he passed away. I was taken the er on Christmas eve and given anti-anxiety meds as well as my Keppra. I have not had an episode since then and have reduced my dosage to 1000 mg. a day
I would like to totally stop taking the Keppra.
    1000 mgs. Keppra daily
Reading, gardening, spending time with grandkids
