    Seizure Background
I suffered a severe brain injury when I was 22. I had 2 brain operations (one to remove broken skull bone & the other one 3 days later to remove a blood clot in my left temporal lobe). I am now 48 and have been taking Dilantin since then. I had 2 seizures (one at 29 and one at 36), because each time neurologists had taken me OFF of Dilantin, saying that I didn't need to be on it since so many years had gone by without me having one. When I did have the seizures without taking it, doctors were convinced that I had to be on Dilantin for life. I now take 100mg in the morning and 100mg at night, a mild dosage compared to what others take.
    Dilantin, 200mg
    Baltimore, Maryland
