I guess I am newly diagnosed. EEG shows abnormalties and I am going for my MRI tonight. My pcp got me an appointment with a neuro specialist but I have to wait two months. Now should I wait or should I look around myself for a neuro dr. Should I wait and see the specialist or just see a regular neuro.
 
2 months sounds like a long time. Maybe you could contact your pcp and see if they can call and get you in sooner, or recommend another neurologist. Good luck!
 
It doesn't hurt to see what other neurologists are out there. Ideally it should be an epileptologist, or a neurologist at an epilepsy center. You could also ask the specialist's office if they have a cancellation list to put you on if a slot opens up sooner.
