I know not everyone celebrates Christmas...
but there sure are alot of interesting Christmas songs out there that make me smile because they are unusual.

Forgive me for not adding a link, but how about
Mele Kalikimaka (Hawaiian Christmas Song)? I always thought it was pretty cute.

One of my favorites is Happy Xmas by John Lennon. I love this verse:
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight

I like the " 2000 Miles (It Must Be Christmas Time)" by the Pretenders.

They also do a cover of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas", another one of my faves.

Love, love, love Vince Guaraldi's music for Charlie Brown Christmas. I can listen to it any time of year...and often do.

I love Trans-Siberian Orchestra. It's the rock and roll way to listen to christmas songs. Went to see them a few years ago for their Christmas concert and it was great.

All great classics! Thanks for sharing guys! I wasn't feeling the season yet so this has absolutely pushed me in the right direction!
I love the lyrics for the Fairytale of New York by the Pogues. You're a bum, you're a punk, you're an old slut on junk...ha ha! I haven't thought of this one for ages! Thanks Fedup!

I have sooo many favorites..
Silent Night especially on Christmas Eve at the end of the midnight service with a couple verses usually in German.

Fun Christmas songs are Silver Bells, Santa Baby sung by Kellie Pickler, White Christmas,
Little Town of Bethlehem. Also, I love the Charlie Brown song too.

And the song by the Pretenders...have to go to YouTube and listen and most definitely Have yourself a Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas!!!

I take a lot of flack for liking this song, but it's one of my favorites. It's been a part of my holidays with my dad growing up (he loved it too!) and I still love it 30-something years later.

It might not make sense to many of you but I understand it 100%. It's fine if you don't. :D

Met my old lover in the
grocery store
The snow was falling Christmas Eve
I stole behind her in the
frozen foods
And I touched her on the sleeve
She didn't recognize the
face at first
But then her eyes flew
open wide
She went to hug me and she
spilled her purse
And we laughed until we cried.
We took her groceries to the
checkout stand
The food was totalled up and
bagged
We stood there lost in our
embarrassment
As the conversation dragged.
We went to have ourselves
a drink or two
But couldn't find an open bar
We bought a six-pack at
the liquor store
And we drank it in her car.
We drank a toast to
innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond
the emptiness
But neither one knew how.
She said she'd married her
an architect
Who kept her warm and safe
and dry
She would have liked to say she
loved the man
But she didn't like to lie.
I said the years had been a
friend to her
And that her eyes were still
as blue
But in those eyes I wasn't
sure if I saw
Doubt or gratitude.
She said she saw me in the
record stores
And that I must be doing well
I said the audience was
heavenly
But the traveling was hell.
We drank a toast to
innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond
the emptiness
But neither one knew how.
We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to time
Reliving in our eloquence
Another 'auld lang syne'...
The beer was empty and our
tongues were tired
And running out of things to say
She gave a kiss to me as I got out
And I watched her drive away.
Just for a moment I was
back at school
And felt that old familiar pain
And as I turned to make
my way back home
The snow turned into rain --
