I was just sitting in the car and my left arm just all of a sudden felt like a dead arm. Could this be a sign of a seizure a tonic clonic one or a different kind of seizure? If so what kind? Or could Keppra be causeing this? Please help I m worried. I haven't been diagnosed by a doc yet but all the reading I have done I have Tonic Clonic one. Is this common for a Aura for Tonic Clonic Seizures too. Or is this my Keppra side effects? Thank you I see a Nuro on June 19th.

Hello JLogefeil

Your brain is certainly sending some signal, maybe partial seizure (I’m no doc).

My Son has T/C, simple and complex partial. He gets various auras (but he also has awakening T/C so no aura then) before a daytime seizure which do not all turn to T/C but some do and it can be very hard to truly predict where it will go. If you still feeling strange sensations be very careful. I sure would not drive just now. Glad you will get to see a Neurologist soon. Hopefully the CWE crew will have some Keppra feedback for you.

How you feeling now, any other strange sensations?

I had this happen to me after a medication doseage change. I pretty much chalked it up to my body adjusting to the new dosage. They had changed my topamax from 2 100mgs pills to 1 200mgs pill at a time so the drug was being dispersed differently so of course i was reacting differently. I pretty much felt like my muscles froze up. My husband checked me and said I was fine my muscles were not even tense....weird it was all in my head. The good news was that after they changed the dosage was that some of the irratating side affects went away like the tingling hands and feet. yay!

I take 3000 mgs. of Keppra a day and once in a while I have my leg muscles freeze up momentarily. But I know it isn't a TC seizure. IMO, it's a side effect of the medication.
