Hi,
I would like to thank everyone for their responses. I feel really welcomed here.

I went to my neurologist today since I had what I thought was some kinda of absent seizure. It turns out the Doctor said I had a Complex/partial seizure while I was getting my long term EEG done. I thought it was just a tonic/clonic but she said it started out as a partial (i guess where can lose consiusness and maybe twitch in certain parts-like arms, etc.) ((at least I think that is what she meant)).

So she said it was the same thing where I might have "zoned" at work then came back.

If someone could please help clarify more? I seemed to have lost literally 1/2 hour of time in the morning before work. It was 6:30 when I started to put on make-up, then all of a sudden, like normal I was still ready and the radio said it was 7:00. Never had that happen before!! I though with absent seizures you would only for a minute or so, not that long. Can anyone help with what could have happened? At work it was only a little time but losing that time in the morning really has me confused. Unless it's some other type but I'm not sure. It's hard to get a diagnoses from the Doc. compared to people that have seizures.

Thank you again everyone!!!

Glad to hear that the report all came
in and that you have received your answers
as well! And hopefully the Doctor will now
be able to treat you! But please do continue
to stay with us in CWE!

I have both simple and complex partials and was just diagnosed this year. I thought my seizures were lasting 20-30 minutes because that is the time I "lost" during my seizures. My doc says the seizure itself is only 2 minutes and the rest is the postal part of the seizure. He said it is not uncommon for the after effect to last that long and for you not to be "in" during that time.
Glad to hear your appointment went well. There is a lot of learn about seizures and this has been the place where I have gotten educated!

So glad you got an answer:clap:

Hope some of this helps. I have CP, but, each person is different. There are many types of auras, many types of symptoms (ictal), many types of after times (post ictal) - each person is different. Your doctor might also have literature or be able to explain in greater detail YOUR type. ASK QUESTIONS!!

Bernard or Brain or Birdbomb will probably have more answers, I'm fairly new on here. Had epilepsy for 50 of 52 yrs but only finally diagnosed correctly (I hope) this year.

(((((((((hugs))))))) Welcome!!

Hello Kimba~

Welcome to CWE Board. I hope you find all of the answers you need. Enjoy the board. Take care.

Kimba - my daughter loses hours of time when she has a tonic clonic. It is time prior to the seizure that she loses. She sometimes needs to sleep for about 30-60 min after it though.

Luckily we have reduced her seizures from 6/mo to less than 1 a month.
