Living with epilepsy or other health conditions can mean a lot of tough days, but I’m curious to know: what’s your go-to comfort activity when things feel overwhelming? Could be a favorite TV show(I love the BigBangTheory, Young Sheldon so much), music(I love instrumental artists like Tony Anderson, Hazy and Scott Buckley and a few vocalists like Will Swinton, Rema, Jamie Miller☺️), hobby, or even a random comfort food. I’d love to hear what brings you a bit of peace or escape when things get heavy. Maybe I’ll get some ideas to try for myself!

I’ve rewatched big bang and young Sheldon. Great shows and Kaley Cuoco is gorgeous.
My go to recovery food is waffles with peanut butter and maple syrup 😋

"Soft kitty" is just adorable!

I swear those episodes are always my favourite

I like doing crosswords. Nothing too taxing on the brain, but enough to challenge myself

Also I love my music too, and I love mcdonalds. I swear mcdonalds was invented for the soul purpose of me eating it all

Oh. We have a pond near us and sometimes I like to walk down and watch the ducks as well. Maybe even take a drink or lunch down there and sit on the bench to enjoy the sunshine

I also forgot to say I love horse racing

My poor voice though from shouting at the tv..

Soft kitty, warm kitty… haha😁
I always feel a bit more at ease when that tune plays in Big Bang Theory. Those episodes are really special
Crosswords sound like a great way to keep your mind engaged without too much stress. Do you have any favorite puzzle books or apps? Would love to hear about them

Oh McDonald, I haven't had them, they aren't as common over here in Nigeria. I usually go for jollof and fried rice. Classic dishes over here. What about you? Where are you Chatting from?

Another fellow Big Bang Theory fan Kaley Cuoco definitely lights up the screen. 🍩 Waffles with peanut butter and maple syrup?
Waffles with fruit toppings sound tasty, though I’ve never tried them because fruit like bananas isn’t as common here in Nigeria. I usually go for Jollof rice or fried riceclassic dishes here. What about you? Where are you chatting from?”

I am chatting from england, so quite a distance!. (isn't it amazing how the internet allows us to talk from so far away?)

I have heard of those dishes you mentioned. I have a friend who lives in Ghana (well over here now), and sometimes she makes them for herself and her daughter

I get into listening to the 1970's music along with writing short stories or poems. I also get on
the ham radio and talk to people all over the world. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You,

Sue

I wish I still did my journal

Years ago I had one, and I updated it every day- well, tried to update it every day anyway.

I just ran out of stuff to say eventually.... trying to get back in to it though.

I have a journal on here which I need to update at some point.. I think I was going to do it yesterday but I had a seizure in the early afternoon which sort of made me want to do nothing but rest and stare at nothing in particular

By the time I felt better it was time for bed anyway. lol

Hey there
I’m in historic Concord Massachusetts. Famous for the American revolution battles against the British.
Yes waffles and fruit is delicious and more common. Peanut butter is my favorite thing. The maple syrup is probably due to my location. Beautiful Vermont with all their maple trees is not far.
I’ve never heard of Jollof rice. I’ll check it out.
This is a donut 🍩
This is a waffle 🧇
Don’t want any emoji confusion 😂

I often wonder if I have enough interests.

The other day I was asked what my hobbies were and my response was, oh, you know, just the usual, listening to music, watching tv, etc

I don't have many things that interest me, and now I'm posting this I'm thinking this is the start of another thread... a thread about life and how I've managed to waste it

I just found out that there are different kinds of rice.
I turned on the tv and they were promoting a book RICE by JJ Johnson
What are the odds of that! 😂

One last brag about my hometown. It is also the home of author Henry David Thoreau and Lake Walden. We have 4 season’s so the trees change color. This is my favorite time of year. I also fish at Walden.

With a very small amount of research and some imagination. I’ve got a feeling Jollof rice is a healthier version of a chicken pot pie. A dish Americans would have friendly competitions over. 😅
Also an excellent comfort food if you’re hungry.

Struggling to find joy today

It's not a " tough day"

Just a " Restless day"

Being here gives me comfort... so... I'm here for now

It’s comforting to know you have a Ghanaian friend 🫂❤️. Yeah it’s amazing how much the internet has connected me with people who understand my condition way more than anyone else does. I wonder how the people who lived with epilepsy and lived before the internet, and didn’t have much support from friends and family coped🤔.

And by the way did you know There is a Ghanaian Vs Nigerian Jollof rice rivalry?
Heads up the Nigerian one is better hahaha😀
In case you ever decide to give it a try

Yeah my last few days have been rigged with immense fatigue and anxiety for the most part. No major episodes, just a few muscle tightness as well. But I’m feeling much better now.

We are here for you 🫂

What are the odds of that! Haha! The algorithm, our phones definitely listens to us, to provide us better service I guess.
Oh yeah there are loads of different kinds. We’ve got Jollof, Fried Rice, Coconut Rice, Banga Rice(Banga is Nigerian local name for palmnut), and then White Rice and stew, amongst so many others . And I’m proud to say I can make all of them😀

oh I’ve had donuts and waffles.
We make them over here as well. But I’m sure they’ll most likely be somewhat different from what you have other there, but same general idea I guess.
