Thanks to all of you who had me in your thoughts and prayers'
The first week was I thought was going ok then a gal at churh noticed my hands and I told here about the med switch. Withdrawls was her comment she happens to be a nurse, she's a nice kid and keep checking in. Week two dilantin down to 300mg daily and full strengh on the vimpat. Come Sunday I drop another 100mg of dilantin. Well just a little update that all is going well and an looking forward to getting off of dilantin after 47 years.

"all is going well"

music to our ears and hearts. Long may it continue.

Hi Mr. Pibb, glad to hear that things are going okay. You might ask your doc about decreasing the Dilantin by a smaller increment, and over a longer stretch of time. Giving your body and brain more time to adjust at each level can help minimize withdrawal side effects, as well as any from ramping up on the Vimpat.

First of thanks to all that have kept me in your prayers. I took and changed levels again. I upped my Vimpat 50mg to 200mg bid and dropped my dilantin 100mg only 100mg of dilantin and i'm off it.
Still taking 600mg of lyrica , had a Sz Christmas night had a small glass of bailey's but not enough to bring on the Sz or so I thought. As I am getting to the end of the med. switch i am getting anxious. Jerry
