So after my father went toxic with his dilantin they upped his keppra while they tried to get his level down finally got it leveled and he started having seizures again only to find out his keppra level went from 28 to 5.8 in less then a month so they retested him a week later and it dropped to 4 so they upped it again and he had another seizure tonight im so confused as to why they cant seem to control his seizures he used to have maybe 1 or2 a year usually cause he forgot to take his pills and now it seems out of control

Our bodies are incredible and scary things. Eventually your body can break down and metabolize medications that it is regularly exposed to. I can only imagine how terrifying this experience is for your family. My hope for good things. <3

Hi and that sounds so hard to be in right now. I am visiting Wisconsin in two days but only the green Bay area. And you talk of your father yet it can happen to any of us too. Not to belittle his/your situation. I have not had seizing but am especially tired and then also, irritable and short tempered for the last month. Is that all a sign that there is metabolizing going on that didn't before??
