I thought it would be interesting to know how everyone motivates themselves when they are mentally or physically tired from seizures or just general day to day stuff.

Because I have lack of motivation to live my life half the time and end up on FB for the sake of it and when work involves concentration it takes me a long time to get going because of my slight learning disability.

I also tend to sit around a lot because of my slight physical disability and the only walking I will do if I am at home is walk the dog for half an hour.

Being tired all the time does not help things. and this cold weather does not help either!!

I usually feel pretty zonked when I get up in the morning, probably due to the sedative effect of the meds. So I get into the shower right away to help me wake up properly. During the day I try to take breaks from my work and the computer, and walk as much as possible. I know what you mean about the cold weather though -- it definitely makes it harder to get outside. I have the nintendo wii, which can be a good way to exercise indoors. Another good way to rev up your system is to jump rope. Cheap and easy!

It's also important to learn to listen to your body -- sometimes you really do need to rest and recuperate, so don't push yourself too hard.

I have to get on my treadmill, if I don't do some excerizing I will find I feel weaker the next day.

I was given this advise on this forum (Nakamova) at 1st. I thought HOW can I exez. when I don't have any energy. I have added drinking a protein drink I purchased.

There are a lot of reasons for lack of motivation, the one thing that everybody agrees on is the brain, motivation and exercise are linked. When I find I am tired and lack motivation I have to convince or make myself get up and do something. Keeping your brain active and exercise, like walking your dog for half an hour makes you feel better, but will eventually ware off. The only way I do it is like I said make myself get up and do something or convince myself it needs doing and convincing myself does not always work.
