I'm going in for VNS device replacement as last VNS device replacement surgery took place in 2021.

A question that has crossed my mind is on comfort clothing a V-neck t-shirt or a tunic top that has shoulders open as both fit loose, can be easily placed back on after the surgery is completed.

My OCD kicked in and I began thinking outside of the box.

With the V-neck t-shirt it may be beneficial as it would cover the surgical area but again, would that cause harm as the gauze has something touching it?

With the tunic top, the shoulder area is open. I have the ability to easily get in and out of the top because it is loose. Secondly, the surgical area just completed is covered by tape, wraps, and gauze is now safely covered by the tunic top. Is the tunic top enough or should there be further coverage like a t-shirt post surgery?

Thank you all that have chosen to answer the above for feedback.

You’ll be cool in the AC at the hospital. I had to look up what a tunic top was 😆 but it looks comfy.
I remember how good my hoodie felt after getting out of the awful hospital gown.

As you said the surgical area is going to be covered so I don't think it will really matter what type of shirt you wear, just make sure it's a loose one. It probably will be cold in the hospital so maybe bring something with long sleeves too like a sweatshirt or sweater. You want to keep yourself comfortable.

Thank you for sharing your point of view along with good thoughts. Having been through this surgery prior the thought of wearing long sleeves does raise the thought of needing to move my arm freely after surgery is completed. In both pre-op then post-op I obtain a sheet as well as a blanket that is warmed should that be needed. The hospital has done this before so they are very good to me when experiencing this type of temperature change.

Great thoughts to mention as it does have me thinking, thank you for your feedback.
