I would like to know if multivitamins can lead to high Dilantin levels when they are taken together. Currently, I am not taking multivitamins. However, I still would like to know some information on this subject matter. Any information would be useful regarding this.

Hi NaderH,

Yes, vitamin D and Folic Acid can cause Dilantin to become toxic or it can lower how the Dilantin will help you. I've
been on it in the past. The best thing for you to do is speak with your pharmacist and they can give you more detail.
Wishing you the best of luck and May God Bless You,

Sue

I always took a regular multivitamin along with Dilantin--the max dose of it that I took was 340mg/day. My neurologist has also had me on 1mg folic acid for as long as I can remember.
