Hi y'all,
My name is Rose. I am 48 and was diagnosed with Left Temporal lobe Epilepsy when I was 17. I am currently on Tegretol and am involved in a research study at oregon Health Sciences University in Portland oregon using behavior modification to control seizures. Since I began the study in November 2004, I have had 6 seizures and have been able to stop about 10 others. I have also been able to stop auras using deep breathing and relaxation techniques I have learned. I am the mother of a seventeen year old son and step mom to two other teenager boys, ages 16 and 18.

Hi Rose, welcome to the forum!

What techniques do you think are the most helpful at preventing seizures?

Nice to meet you! I meditate and work with a massage therapist for stress relief and have found it extremely useful.
