I have no financial struggles now luckily. But my brain surgery was over 3 years ago, right before it, my Dad did not want to apply for Medicaid. I told him that if you don't get Medicaid I will NEVER help you with this, not now, not in 20 years if I have a well paying job, NEVER. I'm thinking I would have to finish paying the debt after he was gone but still. So weeks after the brain surgery I was out of the hospital in inpatient therapy and he told me that he finally got Medicaid and it was great to hear and now I'm still in therapy recovering from the surgery and I have realized that we would be in much farther debt than I had anticipated with the price of therapy being so high. Plus all of the extra appointments I now have.

I did originally have health insurance but it wouldn't have helped very much.

I don't qualify for my states version of medicaid.
But I do qualify for Medicare A and B because I'm on disability.
The Hospital I've been going to also has an income based "Charity Care" program.
With all of that it looks like my upcoming surgery should be covered.
