Hi, new to this too! Joined today because I need some support because my anger is too intense at losing my driver's license and the poor treatment by my ex-neurologist. I'm not sure if I'm correctly diagnosed as my experience with the neurologist and his PA has been terrible but that's going to be another posting...

Last year I had stroke like symptoms which started with neck pain, tingling in my chin and then difficulty talking. After five days of symptoms increasing, I went to the ER. Stroke ruled out, but found low Vitamin D and arthritis in my neck. Vitamins and physical therapy seems to resolve symptoms.

I also have migraines (hormonal), hypoglycemia, and an enlarged lymph node in my neck. Recent fatigue and soreness in my neck prompted a referral to endocrinologist and getting blood work done this month. Thyroid problems run rampant in our family.

At the neurologist office, I told the PA I stumbled over a sentence in front of my religious education class. The EEG had come back abnormal, so she diagnosed simple partial seizures and turned it in to PennDot. Just got initial bill from the attorney for $1500 for starting the appeal process to get my license back. This combined with loss of wages & work time, negative impact to my business, negative impact to my sons (8 & 5) - had to cut back son's preschool and can't get other one to activities; and my life in general are pushing me to the limit. Topamax was a nightmare and I'm getting off it. Side effects were worse than any symptoms I've ever complained about.

I have an appointment with a seizure specialist at UPMC in Pittsburgh beginning of February to get a second opinion. Anxious on how that is going to turn out.

I could use some feedback on simple partial seizures or any clue if this is something else... Also advise on accepting this if I do have it...
