I'm pretty blown away that my 5 day EEG is coming up this soon. I was thinking it was either going to fall through for financial reasons or they would delay it until October. The epilepsy nurse called us and informed us a patient couldn't make. So tomorrow morning it is. I never get nervous but I'm pretty freaked out. They have things fairly under control with my seizures, but they think things might be more complicated. I still am not sure as what "more complicated" means but I hope to find out. I will come back and hopefully let you all know how it goes, and even more of what to possibly expect. I have been lucky enough to talk to people about their experiences with a 5 day EEG. Thanks everyone for your knowledge and i'll be back on here in 5 days.

Good luck, I hope it goes well for you and they find out what they need to! My daughter goes in for one on Thursday!

I hope all goes well. I hate it when they refer to things without telling you pointblank what they are thinking "things may be more complicated" because our imaginations go wild. I hope that this will bring more answers and that the 5 days go by quickly. Best of luck!

Best of luck to you!! don't get discouraged if it takes several days for something to show up. My doctor told me that for some reason, most activity will show up on day 4. I hope it shows up faster for you!

 Dancing Banana's are suppose to bring luck

So here some Good Luck!!!

Good luck, I personally hate being watched by doctors in a hospital, not cause they're doctors, just cause I don't like being watched. lol. First time in hospital I was too sick to care. If I know I'm being watched in a hospital, hard for me to sleep.

Ha ha! Know what you mean about being watched 24/7. It's like being on reality TV in a really crappy way.

When Jon had his last overnight EEG, I was sleeping in the room with him, and I even got comments about my snoring -- how embarrassing!

Tonight's the next one for us.

After day 1 I felt to bad to even care the camera was on. At certain points I did feel a little freaked out. Hopefully tonight they can find something on his EEG for Jon.

Muay,if ur wanting to have seizure while in there try using some of your triggers get real stressed out try not to sleep etc.. Not sure what yours are those r mine and tryin to focus

I have a funny story about my VEEG. So the doc told me not to eat anything. They put me on IV glucose and wanted me to stay hungry for 3 days and 2 nights! On the second day I was so hungry I begged my parents to give me something to eat. So they got me some crackers. The doctor and nurse got mad at my parents :roflmao: I felt bad afterwards because my parents were innocent lol

Muay, What day of VEEG is this today?

My daughter Anna goes in for what will probably be a 5-day tomorrow morning (it was supposed to be yesterday but the insurance hadn't authorized it yet). That is funny,Katzy Actually we were just realizing that hunger may be a trigger for Anna because on long days at college when she skips lunch or only has a granola bar and gets really hungry she will usually have seizures that evening. Wondering if we can do that somehow at the hospital, it's hard when they bring you meals on a regular schedule but maybe she can just eat a little at lunch and save the rest for later?

Muay, hope they get something on your eeg, aren't you going on day 4 now? I think someone said in another thread that the 4th day or night is usually when something happens. Good luck to you and Karen B's son!

But don't let the doctors know that her seizures are triggered by hunger:D They'll starve her for 5 days if that's what it took to make her have seizures!

Perhaps it's not the hunger so much as a drop in blood sugar that's triggering the seizures. I remember in college I used to pass out if I skipped a meal.
