Does are government really care about it's junkies?

It doesn't take an Eisenstein to see what is going on here.

Who funded those studies?

These studies were funded by NIH and probably by the pharmaceuticals involved. Plus, doctors often play a huge roll in studies.

Clinical studies can be sponsored, or funded, by pharmaceutical companies, academic medical centers, voluntary groups, and other organizations, in addition to Federal agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Defense, and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Physicians, health care providers, and other individuals can also sponsor clinical research.

Not today, since it is shut down for a bit. ;)
And who are you referring to as "junkies"?

It doesn't take an Eisenstein to see what is going on here.

Ok, I'm not Einstein, so tell me, what is going on here? I've had the VNS since 1997 and just had my 3rd battery replacement and it has done more for seizure control than brain surgery ever did!
No where did it ever say that the VNS was going to be a cure all.

Vagal Inhibition. That is what is killing everyone. I had mine 6 years with no problem. Everyone is different. My vagus nerve could only handle 100,000 or so of those zaps. Your vagus nerve might be able to handle a half a million. Eventually it gets you by vagal inhibition.

I've had my VNS for 6 years too and have never had any problems with it. I'm still having seizures and taking meds but the seizures aren't nearly as bad or as often as they were before it. And amount of meds has reduced a lot.

If I do feel the seizure coming on and I use it the VNS will stop the seizure. A good bit of times though I don't feel it coming on but as I said the seizures aren't as bad as they were. Also if someone sees that I'm having the seizure and uses the magnet on me while I'm in it I'll come out of it pretty quick.

I still can't believe how much it has decreased the amount of seizures I have a month. Before I got it I was having around 4 a week. Now I'm having around 4 a month. The neuro said that it wasn't guaranteed to stop them. I knew that when I got it but I'm glad that I did.

I know at one point when my neuro adjusted the zaps once, increased them, I started having problems. This was shortly after I got it so we were figuring out what was the right settings on it for me. But when he lowered them I was back to normal (if you want to call me that - lol)
