Remember the story about H.M.? The guy who had E and had his whole hippocampus removed, but then couldn't remember. In the latest "Scientific America-Mind" issue, there is an article about the latest research on the hippocampus and what they have learned since operating on H.M. (Henry Molaison). Pretty interesting stuff.

New findings on people with a damaged hippocampus suggest a bold rethinking of the way we map the brain By Felipe De Brigard

We will always be learning about the brain. No matter what we learn, there will always be more.

:agree: There is always going to be a need for brain research. But it is always exciting for those of us with a damaged hippocampus to know they are focusing on that area of the brain!

There's a book about Henry Molaison that's being published next month -- it's called Patient H.M.: a Story of Memory, Madness, and Family Secrets. The author is Luke Dittrich.
