I love Start wearing purple by Gogol Bordello.

I hear you on the cheering up today. I just listened to that and already I feel a little better.

Also Super Theory of Super Everything has awesome laser gun sounds that scare the cats, so that one's worthy of a listen too.

well I find "Hammer Time" a great happy song. I can't help but laugh at it.

Shelley, silly doesn't begin to cover Porcupine Pie but it made me smile You have an eclectic taste in music, variety being the spice of life. I have to say Buckeye "Its a wonderful Life" is a classic but bittersweet to me.

I always like songs by the Housemartins (British band from the 80s) for cheery stuff. Also a friend of mine made me a funky dance mix with "oldies" -- everything from Donna Summer to Madonna to Santana. I started playing it at a potluck, and suddenly everyone was dancing in the kitchen (well, at least the parents were -- their kids were mortified and went and hid in the livingroom). It's also a great mix for when I'm driving.
