I'm glad to hear you have not had side effects even at this fairly high dosage.
For your mother, was it 900mg a dose, or per day? (I will be doing 900mg per day if I start) I haven't seen a lot about it being indicated for myoclonus so that is what i will discuss when she calls me back tomorrow.

My son takes 600mg every 6 hours for nerve pain and he said he has no bad side effects from that dose. It works very well for his nerve pain. Everyone is different.

I'm frustrated with my neurologist. As this is all new to me, I am not quite sure how to maybe request referral to a movement specialist instead. Or how to find someone who will talk to me about the things I need to discuss. I feel dismissed.

She didn't call me back to discuss my concerns, she instead had the nurse call me back again and she couldn't answer any of my questions and disregarded my concerns and fears.

Whatever. I filled the Rx and will try it out starting tomorrow. Because I need something.

I'm pretty worried about the depression/suicide side effects I keep reading about, as I am currently already dealing with both of these things. I'm terrified for it to be increased on this drug, and hope I can handle it.

If it actually works to stop the jerks and I don't have bad side effects, then great. I guess I won't know unless I try. But I really feel like maybe this isn't the right drug to try - I haven't found ANYTHING where it is indicated to treat myoclonic jerks. We'll see!

Hi lovemytiger,

I drink chamomile tea or Sleepy Time tea, to relax my muscles and nerves.

I hope you have told your doctor about your depression/suicide. Have you?
