Hi two silly questions, first off if I am able to go for a video eeg to see if I am viable for surgery or not and I have suffered a myclonic jerks before going in for the eeg process. Would it called off if I had to take my rescue medication before being hooked up and filmed, or wouldn't it matter would it still show up as unusual brainwave activity. As the neurologist explained it to me that they would have to film the myclonic jerks, this has got me a little bit nervous as well I really wouldn't want it leading to a full grand mal seizure I know I am skipping 6 steps ahead as my dad says "slowly, slowly, catchy monkey" lol.
The second is I take it the whole stem cell research claim that theres been a break through is a scam from this site? stemcellofamerica.com to try and con people out of there money? I have seen similar claims before from other sites and they always are to good to be true and you know what they say about to good to be true so just heres a long shot.

any advice or comments on this would be great thanks all.

You don't necessarily need to be having a seizure during the EEG to produce brainwaves characteristic of epilepsy, but it can be a big help if they're trying to screen you for surgery. The more info that can be determined about where the seizure focus is the better. You should check on with your neuro to see what that means in terms of your medication, though. How long will the EEG be? How often do you have seizures? Those factors will probably play into the neurologist's decision about the meds.

Yup the stem cell stuff is a scam I'm afraid. Any stem cell treatments for epilepsy are probably many years off.
