Hi Dalia --

Simple Partial seizures can mimic panic attacks. Symptoms can include feelings of dread and nausea, and changes in heart rate and breathing. There's also a slightly longer kind of seizure called a Complex Partial. It can feature semi-impaired awareness, cognitive difficulties, and some automatic motions, a bit like sleep walking.

I hope the EEG is helpful -- let us know how it goes.

Hi Dalia, So glad you found a doctor who listened to you. I actually suggested a psychologist not a psychiatrist but if he is helping you then that is wonderful. Take care and good luck dear lady.

Thanx nakamova do you mean tha complex partial seizure can last too long like hours ?i will discuss this with my dr thanx a lot and if you have more info please share it with me

Hello sandie and thanks for you advice sister this really help i wish ill get the medication i need soon best wishes to you

It's not always easy to tell when a complex partial seizure starts and stops, since it can begin as a simple partial. Sometimes the symptoms come in clusters, and last for a while. But a significant feature is the impaired awareness. If you fully remember everything that occurs during your symptoms, then they are less likely to be complex partials.

It will be helpful to the doctor if you can keep a detailed diary of your symptoms -- when they start and stop, what form they take, what changes the go through, if your memory is affected, etc.
