My daughter went a few months seizure free then has 3 grand mals in 10 days. Nothing changed as far as medication or lifestyle. Does anyone else here have seizures that seem to come in clusters? This is all so frightening. Im glad I found this place with real people to talk with!

Sometimes it takes a combination of factors to push someone over the edge. Fatigue is the number one trigger, but it can be other things like ood sensitivities (like MSG or aspartame or gluten), high estrogen levels or low progesterone levels, low blood sugar, dehydration, infection. One of the best ways to see if you and your daughter can identify a trigger is to keep a seizure diary. If you can note the seizure, the time of day, what happens, what time of the month, how she was feeling in the days beforehand, what she was eating and drinking... You get the picture.

Is your daughter on meds? If so, were there any changes in dosage, or a missed dose, or a switch from the brand to generic? Those can trigger seizures as well.

Nak, there were absolutely no changes in meds and no missed doses. She also tells me she isnt feeling more stressed out. Its puzzling.

Mine often come in clusters. My epi says that isn't unusual. Sometimes I kinow what the trigger is, but often I don't know why I have a bunch of seizures. My epi says that isn't unusual either.

On trileptal there were no seizures at all, but I'm not there yet on Lamictal.
