Greetings once again :( After a yr w/o seizures my PCP and Neuro decided to "Try" to wean me off of some of my meds. Over the last 5 months or less my symptoms of TLE worsened - I've had such since 18 mos of age and am to be 58 yrs old this fall !! My symptoms were so identical to TIA / Stroke that I was rushed to ER of one hospital and sent STROKE ALERT to a specialty hospital for CT/ 2 MRI - all normal - the ER DR checked my history against the current symptoms and said it was my old TLE - had my PCP visit and have NEURO visit Monday have had multiple CP/PC seizures each day - NEURO says either wait til Monday or go to ER - ER would give me a KEPPRA booster IV and send me home or NOTHING and send me home - here in A.L.F. I am watched and roommate/ hubby takes care of me. I am a bit sad that it all has started all over again. Longest time w/o was 20 yrs - twice. It's ok - will comply - and all that - just I still find med. personnel are uneducated as to the MANY types of epilepsy especially from the Temporal Lobe :( Really disturbing when MRI even is normal - good but well u know what I mean :( That's all folks - thanks for listening :)

I'm so sorry about your relapse. I hope you can quickly get back to being seizure free again.

I did have a stroke 3 1/2 years ago and starting within 24 hours I was having partial seizures that mimic TIA's. It took over 3 years to figure out there are seizures and not TIA's. I kept waiting to stroke out

Thank you MAB - doctors focused so much on TIA's and all that I forgot (duh) that I had seizures identical to those and even when a doctor questioned if it could be that - I firmly stated I had not had a seizure in over a yr. BUT forgot we cut back on meds a few mos ago to see what would happen - voila' now we know lol (not funny :(
Thanks again for the support. :)

I'm sorry your sz's started back that's a real bummer at least you can say you were 18 months sz free at once.I've never been more 4 1/2 months sz free.
