Creatinine!

Hello all!
I came after so many days. I just developed pain in my joints of the fingers of the hand after a series of siezures in the night. I only came to know about the seizures when I realized a swollen forehead. And when I went to the doctor, my creatiine level was 6. Well I dont know what is this all now!!! But I do hope for the best. Please suggest me what is to be done now??

Hi survivor,

I'm sorry to hear that you had a seizure. Creatine levels tend to rise after a tonic-clonic seizure, so they are sometimes measured after the fact to determine if a tonic-clonic has occurred. They shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Have you talked to your neurologist about the seizure? Do you think your meds may need adjusting, or do you think there was some other trigger that may have brought it on. You might want to have your hand x-rayed to make sure there's no serious damage.

The doctor said that my X-ray was normal. I had my sodium valporate and phynetoin levels tested and epilex levels were very low. Doctor said that my dose was less according to my weight. He was a bone speacialist but he did not tell me that my levels can be affected by seizures. i am planning to see a better doctor and have advice. may be I will go for all the tests- glucose, uric acid, cretinine, ast, alt and all.
