My son has epilepsy and he was getting free carbratrol xl from Shire.
However, I got a letter from Shire that he may qualify from medicaid, but my state(Tn) he does not qualify for medicaid - its clear on the Tn state website.

Ellie, I don't want to get political, but heathcare has been in the crapper for going on 50 yrs, to "fix-it" in 3 mos and in 1200 pgs is bullshit. But first things first, contact the drug company and see if they have a drug assistance program. It's funny how now that the new helthcare law is in effect the OOPSIES are being noticed. i know there are prople that need coverage, but when people are being dropped from and put on medicaid, I am on it and it is not that great. I also have fibromyalgia and I have to sometimes wait a week while "Someone" at medicaid decides if they will pay for it. In the meantime I either pay $350 for it or wait and suffer in pain. Yeah it's been fixed!!! But go to the drug company and plead poverty, they have plans. Good luck.
