There may have been posts about this already, but there is a lot of info here and I'm still new.

I saw a thread about EEG giving you results for different types of seizures. When I saw the neurologist he listened to what my wife described, looked at an MRI that showed a small scar tissue and told me that my seizures where complex partial. After that I had my EEG test done, and the results I was told were abnormal. (I need to go back and see him with a lot of questions after finding this website.)

I've seen a few things about Neurfeedback, but I'm curious about links to any websites that people have or places here just on EEG info. I only knew of "abnormal" results for an EEG test and it looks like there is more.

Yes, the

EEG will give you different results based on the brain waves tracked by the twenty or so electrodes attached to your head.

There are different patterns for different types of seizures on the EEG. Which, by the way, there are over 40 different types of seizures, if my memory serves me correctly.

Regarding the MRI.......the MRI was done to find any physical deformities, which could be a reason for the seizures in the first place. Because there was a scar found by the MRI, the neurologist is reasonably sure between that, and what was found on the EEG, they know exactly what is going on.

DO ask to know precisely what type of seizure it is that you have so that you know for yourself. You have that right. "Abnormal activity" is NOT an answer. A more appropriate answer would be something like Temporal Lobe Epilepsy or something along that line....simple partial seizures or complex partial seizures, etc.

Neurofeedback is an excellent tool. You are able to retrain your brain using it. There are some banners on this site regarding it, and Mr B, (Bernard) our host, may also have a more complete listing of NF sites, too. RobinN actually uses it in her home for her daughter, Rebecca.
