I have been doing some research about the air force healthcare and it is something I am thinking about doing in the next couple years. But I am diagnosed with epilepsy since the age of 9. I haven't had a seizure for 5 years now and I am stable on Topamax. Does anyone know what are the conditions for going into the air force with epilepsy? Do they even allow people diagnosed with it in?

Most likely you will need a medical waiver to get through MEPS (Military Entry Processing Station) and it is dependant on the what the doctor at MEPS determines. Since you are on meds it may be even more difficult for you to get through. Since you are looking at the healthcare side of things it may or may not help. Different recruiters will tell you different things, so if you find one to help you through with the E diagnosis, then stick with them!

I developed E from a TBI 2.5 years ago during a training accident as a reservist. Since I am in a combat position I am being medically discharged because of it, (whenever the paperwork gets complete).

Good Luck!
