Hey there! So I'm a bit old (25) to be diagnosed with absence seizures, but I got a positive EEG after having an atypical one...and the neurologist and my parents (both physicians) were pretty shocked. They actually expected it to come back clear and that my issue was probably more of a vasovagal (cardiovascular) event.
Anyways, they have no idea how long I've been having them since I also have ADHD so no one really thinks twice if I stare off and am unresponsive for 5-10 secs.
Problem is, other than the inconvenience of not driving for a bit, I'm on 250mg Ethosuxamide which is affecting my school work (I'm in my 2nd year of physical therapy school getting my doctorate)....not only because it makes me drowsy and have issues sleeping, but it seems to decrease the effectiveness of the Vyvanse I take for my ADHD so I have to try ridiculously hard to focus in class. I've also noticed my recall and comprehension isn't nearly as quick as it used to be.
Has anyone else had experience with this? And if so, any tips on what to do? Should I try to adjust meds, try any kind of diet to help, etc??
Thanks!
