Hello! Is anybody have had a Grand mall attack and after that he shaken from coldness (inside of body was cold)? Sorry if my English isn't very well :paperbag:

Hi Mihaela, welcome!

I moved your post so that more people can see it and respond. Does the shivering happen immediately after the seizure? How long does it last?

I don't necessarily shiver but after a convulsion I do feel very cold, especially in my hands & feet.

If it's the very first grand mal seizure you've experienced, then fever and/or chills could be a sign of an infection that might have caused the seizure. If that's the case, it's very important to get checked out.

In general, it's fairly common to have a fever following a grand mal seizure, but if it lasts longer than 48 hours, it should be checked out.

Shivering happen when I'm get to the conscience (before that I don't know). From that seizure until now in the warm room it's cold for me (I'm not shivering but in my room or in my office it's cold for me - and for other people it's really warm.

No, this isn't my first GM. I have had one in 2008. (stress), one in 2009. (minerals and electrolites was on minimum), and one or two in 2010. (no reason). After last seizures neurologist sent me to EEG (result was: pathological EEG) and in may I should get MRI and MRA. Neurologist gave me lamotrigine 1 pills a day, 25 mg (for two weeks) and after that I must take 1 pills per day, 50 mg. After that I should take new EEG test and came to neurologist on control. MRI and MRA I cann't get before may because in Bosnia on that test you should wait about 6-8 months. Others test the doctors don't ask me to do.

Hi, my daughter had a fever after a very bad day of G M seizures the nurse said it could be an infection from "Aspiration Pneumonia", witch is when you throwup during a seizure and some is inhailed into the Lungs. So please if you have a fever and a cough keep this in mind.
p.s. I am steve I am new here looking for info for my daughter Missie, hope to chat with all of you. thank you

I agree with Epileric, my hands and feet feel cold after (reportedly) and I often run a fever an hour or two after.

I've also had an aspiration pneumonia from inhaling pool water a few years ago. That's a drag. I hope your daughter feels better soon.
