OMG this past five or so days has been a living nightmare for me! Well, I say "me" because Im a worrier! I worried the whole time about my son's face. It went from being so swollen, and him running a fever, switching from one medication to another, and then on top of that... I didnt get much sleep, always wanting to check on him during the night, (heck I even made him sleep on the love seat, while I slept on the couch friday night, after returning home from the ER, I was so worried!) But after being on the Clindamyacin for 48 hours, along with ibuphrofen for swelling and pain, his face is finally starting to look like normal again!

This was taken tonight! :)

Im so happy the swelling in the eye area is going down, and the swelling and redness in the forhead area has really improved! Our plan is to send him off to school tomorrow with a bandage on the area to help protect it! He's missed two days of school last week, and I hate for him to miss more! Im just so thankful its healing good now!

Yes it is! :) Its a big improvment and Im (half way relieved) :)

Look at him :) he's happy as can be and you're worried sick. These kids I tell ya. He is so cute. I'm glad he's doing better.

That's great, I hope you can sleep a little better now. :)

Thanks everyone! Yeah, these kids sure can worry a mom! Like my son said in the ER friday night, "Mom, you worry too much!"... I just looked at my mom sitting next to me and rolled my eyes. He's told this ever since thursday night when we had our first trip the ER. You should have heard him on Friday night with the nurse! It was hallarious! After they had to lance open the area, he wasnt crying hard, but I could see the tears going down his face as I peaked into the room from the doorway... (gosh this is going to make me cry again).... anyways.... after it was all over with, and they got him all cleaned up, he layed there for a few minutes, and the nurse asked if he would like some ibuprofen for the pain? I told her he could have it if he wanted it since it had been since 7pm when I gave him Tyenol. It was after 11pm at this pont... and he looked at the nurse and said, "Yeah, I will take some".... "wait.... is it a pill?"..... the nurse said, yes, its a very small pill.

He looks at her and says.... "Great! This will be my third pill I take today!".... she laughs and walks out of the room to get it. When she returns, he goes on like a man would about having to take Clindamyacin for his head... then he says he cant take the pill... he wants the nurse to cut the ibuphrofen in half! OMG... my mom was about to pee her pants at the way he was talking to her. He was so serious with everything he said. It made me feel better that he was at least taking things so great after what they had to do. He came home and snuggled with me on the couch. It felt good knowing he wanted me by his side. :)

that's great, he's a cutie. No matter how mild or serious an illness is, Mom's never stop worrying. I'm in my 40's and my Mom still worries about me. lol

I'm happy to see your son is starting to feel better.
Kristin - nothing wrong with worrying when your child is sick, just shows you are a really good Mum.

I'm in my mid 30s & my Mum still worries about me at times.

Glad he's doing better. That's so cute how he was talking to the nurse-I bet she was laughing inside. We never want them to grow up; but yet we do at the same time- if that makes sense. Snuggle w/Mom time=good time.

He is adorable, even with the swelling! You are a great mom. We always worry about our kids, no matter how old they are, or what stage of life they are in. I am sure that this is just one of many "events" this little guy will have!

I'm so happy he's made a turn around, and I can tell how relieved you are. :)

Thank you everyone! I sent him off to school this morning with his brothers! :) It is starting to look alot better as each day goes by! I put a bandaid on the area, and said please do not mess with it! :) He cant wait til he is done with the antibiotics! LOL I told him he has to take them through friday! But other than that, he's doing pretty good! Im just relieved to see a huge change from saturday night to sunday!

Yes, Im a worry wart! :) Im sure thi is the just start of things with all three kids!
