Hi Everyone!
Would like to introduce myself, I'm Roger
I suffered with epilepsy until 1984.I had seizures from the time I was about 2 yrs old until I started School at age 5.I didn't have any seizures or take any medicine until I turned 12.One day in the spring of 1970 I started having seizures
At first they were mild but got worse,I started falling out of my chair and wetting my clothes. When I went to the Doctor he started me on Dilantin and phenobarbs, but the meds didn't help. I took several combinations of Meds but none seem to control the problem. In 1984 a Doctor in Rockford Il told me about a surgery that the Mayo Clinic was trying,I thought I had nothing to lose so I went there and in April of 1984 the doctors done brain surgery to remove a trauma scar on my brain.
I have been seizure free ever since. I was able to get a drivers license and get off all meds. Today I'm an Ebay instructor and a powerseller on Ebay.

Hi Roger - Welcome to CWE

AWESOME story. I am so glad that it worked for you.
What freedom you must feel. To be seizure free for over 20 yrs, that is great news.

I am sure you can offer some comfort for those that are considering similar surgery.

Glad that you joined us here.

Hi Robin!

Thank-You, I was one of the first 3 or 4 people to have this type of surgery.I have the freedom that most people take for granted. The only side effect of the surgery is an occasional severe headache

Hi

Roger what type of surgery did you have? Just wondering. Welcome to the forums. I hope you enjoy it here. Everyone here is OK. I know some of them from another website. Hope you have a good day.

Welcome Roger!...

It's good to hear a success story!
You'll find many nice folks here...some probably share your background to some degree.
Make yourself at home!

Thanks everyone for the welcome, the type of surgery I had was to make the trama scar on my brain thinner,it was causing the brain to short circuit causing the seizures.
