I have been suffering from a relatively mild dose of flu since last Wednesday, and have had a major tonic clonic seizure each day since then(normally they are quite well controlled, and I have one a month while sleeping on average).

Does anyone know if this is normal with flu ?

Thanks for any help.

I know whenever I am sick or have a fever the likelihood of me having a seizure definitely increases.

It just makes sense (to me at least) that would happen when my body is out of whack.

Infections lower the seizure threshold. As do being dehydrated and tired, also often part of being sick.

Oh, wow. The flu is so miserable. Here's a nice cup of hot tea. Or a chocolate milkshake. Whichever would make you feel better.

Sinus infections are a major seizure trigger for me. I think the reasons are the same as they could be for the flu: it's a combo of fever, dehydration, and lack of sleep in my case. Be sure to drink lots of water, and sleep if you can!

I'm the oddball here...you might want to check Space Weather.

We recently had the largest solar flares since 2006...X-ray class flares. That might be why your seizures, once well-controlled, are flaring frequently again.
